Job summary

Beacon Health System in Mishawaka, IN seeks a friendly receptionist/clerical associate to greet patients, answer calls, schedule with physicians, verify demographics and insurance, and maintain patient records. You will assist with admissions, posting charges, and coordinating pre-op testing and surgeries under supervision, delivering world class service.

High school diploma preferred; Spanish language skills are a plus. On-site role with opportunities for growth within our patient access team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred and experience in healthcare/admitting is beneficial.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is beneficial.
• Spanish language skills are desired.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional, cheerful manner and check them in.
• Answer the telephone and relay messages to clinical staff accurately.
• Schedule patients with physicians and maintain appointment rotations.
• Enter demographic and insurance data into the practice management system.
• Verify insurance information at visits and update patient accounts as needed.
• Post charges, enter prescriptions, and assist with scheduling of tests and surgeries.
• Provide instructions for pre-operative and post-operative care and follow up as needed.
