Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; one year of prior surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of EMRs, insurance verification, medical terminology and surgical procedures is required.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes necessary paperwork
• Confirms patient demographics, surgery date/time, and medical diagnosis
• Reviews pre-op instructions including meds, allergies, labs, and health history
• Gathers insurance information to confirm coverage and benefits
• Ensures all paperwork, including consent forms, is on file
• Handles incoming calls regarding surgery
• Schedules follow-up appointments and health assessments
• Monitors schedule and coordinates with physicians
• Coordinates medical clearance when needed
• Maintains regular, predictable attendance
• Adheres to Advanced Pain Care policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
