Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a dedicated Scheduling Coordinator to support the VHVI Access Center in Nashville. You will coordinate with patients, physicians, and the operating room to schedule procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and appropriate use of technology.

The role emphasizes ensuring patient eligibility, precertification, and clear communication about financial obligations, while collaborating with multiple departments across locations. Monday–Friday on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Coordinating surgery schedule with patient, physician, and operating room.
• Coordinating with other services to schedule multi-panel and multi-surgeon cases.
• Verifies patient eligibility and discusses potential financial obligations with patient.
• Notifies and forwards paperwork for insurance certification to billing office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates surgery schedule with patient, physician, and operating room in support of surgery scheduling functions.
• Coordinates with other services to schedule multi-panel and multi-surgeon combination cases across all locations.
• May assist in scheduling all appointments related to surgery.
• Monitors surgery schedule and ensures optimization of resources and workflow.
• May assist in training new and current employees.
