Job summary

North Texas Orthopedics in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a dedicated medical scheduler to support the surgical scheduling process and patient communications. You will coordinate with physicians, hospitals, and support staff to confirm appointments, manage calendars, and ensure timely, accurate information for patients.

The ideal candidate has experience with insurance pre-authorizations, EMR systems, and a friendly, professional bedside manner.

Qualifications

• MUST be proficient in obtaining insurance prior-authorizations.
• MUST have 1 years of direct surgery scheduling experience.
• Computer literate with strong keyboard skills and EMR experience.
• Background in medical terminology and orthopedics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers the telephone and directs calls to the appropriate person.
• Schedules surgical appointments, greets, instructs and directs patients.
• Position serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
• Maintains MDs calendar and schedules all surgical procedures with hospitals/ASC.
• Coordinates anesthesia, neuro monitoring and hardware reps.
• Verifies insurance coverage and precertification/authorization for surgeries.
• Notifies patients of expected financial responsibility due at time of service.
• Enters benefits and precertification/authorization into EMR system.
• Coordinates with referring physician offices when necessary to pre-authorize services.
