Job summary

iCare Health Solutions is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgical cases and related procedures. You will report to the Center Director and Lead Nurse and ensure accurate charting and timely patient registration.

Responsibilities include scheduling patients in NextGen, preparing charts, handling surgery-related calls, and assisting with data collection for patient satisfaction surveys. Prior experience as a scheduler is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience as a scheduler.
• Medical background knowledge preferred.
• Verbal ability to comprehend written instructions.
• Clerical ability to handle patient information forms and other documents.
• Tact and understanding to deal with surgeons and their personnel.
• Shows interest in patient/family as an individual.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery patients in the Center according to policies.
• Register all surgery patients at least one month in advance in NextGen with accurate insurance info.
• Prepare and complete charts, print labels, and ensure charts include required pre-op documents.
• Cancel procedures in the system and track trends.
• Ensure H&P's, labs, pathology, EKGs are in charts before surgery.
• Compare schedules to charts to confirm all patients are captured.
• Handle all surgery-related calls.
• Collect data for Patient Satisfaction Survey and report findings.
• Order surgery chart supplies and distribute schedules to departments.
• Advise nursing on special needs and accommodations.
• Perform other duties to support Center operations.
