• Provides pre- and post-operative education to patients and families, referring to nurses as needed.
• Screens referrals and pre-certification requests for completeness and medical necessity.
• Collaborates with managers and insurers on referrals, denials, and policies as needed.
• Directs surgeries to appropriate facilities to maximize reimbursement and communicates with registration and billing.
