Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a Surgery Scheduling Assistant to support the Surgery Scheduler and Ambulatory Surgery Department (ASD). This role combines patient scheduling, administrative tasks, and clinical support in a busy healthcare setting.

You will schedule surgeries, coordinate patient information, operate the EHR system, and collaborate with nurses and staff to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Typing speed 40–50 words per minute with at least 90% accuracy.
• Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within three months of hire.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Willingness to learn new systems, procedures, and responsibilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and healthcare professionals in a busy clinical environment.

Responsabilités

• Assist with surgery scheduling, patient coordination, and follow-up communication.
• Answer telephone calls for surgery scheduling and the Ambulatory Surgery Department.
• Maintain accurate surgery schedules, update tracking logs, and verify patient information.
• Learn and use HMC’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicate with patients, staff, and other departments to support coordinated patient care.
• Assist with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and cleaning patient rooms in the ASD unit.
• Help transport patients to and from the ASD unit while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Support other departmental needs as assigned and within the scope of training and authorized responsibilities.
