Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Scheduling/PSR-like professional to manage surgical and hospital procedure calendars at Utah Valley Clinic in Provo, UT. You will coordinate pre-op steps, obtain authorizations, and liaise with hospital staff to ensure cases run smoothly.

You will verify eligibility, coordinate referrals, review CPT/ICD codes, and document costs while supporting patient access and care teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, collection, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages provider's surgery/hospital procedure schedules and follow-ups.
• Obtains authorization for surgeries by researching coverage and obtaining prior auth.
• Coordinates referrals for out-of-network patients and handles CPT/ICD code authorization.
• Proposes iCentra requirements to create pre-surgical FIN# and scheduling cards for hospital staff.
• Coordinates equipment needs and hospital items with nursing staff and surgical reps.
• Meets with patients to explain the surgical process, including pre-op labs and prerequisites.
• Documents cost estimations, scans charts, and investigates billing disputes related to surgeries.
