Job summary

University of Louisville Physicians is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for the ULP - Cardiology Associates in Louisville, KY. This role schedules and prepares documentation for surgeries, reviews patient history, coordinates preoperative steps, and communicates with patients regarding procedures.

You will manage check-in/check-out rotation, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and handle referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and accurate records in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with electronic health records and scheduling systems encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Works reception desk, check-in/check-out on a rotation basis.
• Enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information in computer.
• Schedules, reschedules and verifies patient appointments identifying acute issues.
• Performs full-cycle surgery scheduling and patient pre/post op steps, including consent and authorizations.
• Obtains patient referrals and verifies insurance eligibility.
• Answers multiline telephone, triage calls and manages records in EHR.
