Job summary

Unio Health Partners in Los Angeles is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage surgical calendars, coordinate with physicians, hospitals, and centers, and ensure smooth patient flow from scheduling to procedure.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years in surgical scheduling, medical setting experience, and EMR proficiency. Knowledge of medical terminology and Spanish language is a plus, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in surgical scheduling.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical setting (preferred).
• Medical Assistant experience highly preferred.
• Prior EMR software experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• HIPAA compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform prior authorization submission and confirmation.
• Schedule pre and post-operative appointments.
• Maintain and confirm surgical scheduling records are current and accurate.
• Coordinate equipment availability for procedures.
• Ensure pre-op labs and testing are completed.
• Verify EMR scheduling correspondences among physician, patient, and facility.
• Assist with administrative tasks to support scheduling workflow.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff on patient and surgical activities.
