Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3 years of experience with a large medical group and is familiar with HMO/PPO/POS plans; Epic experience is strongly preferred to coordinate referrals and workflows efficiently.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience with a large medical group practice.
• Surgery scheduling experience in a high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and POS insurance plans.
• Experience with Work Comp and WC cycle and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgery scheduling including verifying insurance, scheduling pre & post-operative appointments, obtaining health clearances, surgery authorizations, and scheduling surgical assistants; Ensure that all pre-operative studies are scheduled and completed prior to surgery.
• Manages physician referral work queues by completing referrals in Epic corresponding to PPC tasks.
• Provides customer service actions such as scheduling appointments, triaging calls by directing to appropriate individuals or departments, responding to patient questions and complaints, referring patient complaints appropriately to supervisor.
• Monitors workflow, coordinates with staff, assists in resolving issues, and liaises with billing and other departments to ensure timely reimbursement.
