You will manage case priorities, staffing, and regulatory compliance while delivering professional service and accurate documentation to support safe, efficient surgical care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of courses or formal training in medical terminology, computer systems, and business office operations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to maintain a poised, professional demeanor alongside strong ethical and moral principles.
• Prior surgical or medical scheduling experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all facility procedures while balancing staff, patient needs, and surgeon times.
• Coordinate preoperative appointments and surgical times considering priorities.
• Verify patient demographics, health histories, and insurance from referring offices.
• Route finalized schedules to internal departments to ensure staff and supplies.
• Execute real-time schedule adjustments including cancellations and urgent rescheduling.
• Answer incoming calls with professional customer service.
• Deliver end-of-day operations reports and optimize block time utilization.
• Review preoperative surgical paperwork and documentation.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with OSHA, ODH, BOP, and TJC.
• Support team with additional administrative duties.
