Chandler Endoscopy Center is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler to manage daily scheduling for procedures in the operating room, GI lab, and 23-hour stay. You will collaborate with anesthesia, verify patient data, and ensure accurate coding and documentation. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

The role requires leadership and the ability to resolve scheduling conflicts, with cross-training among areas and ongoing coordination with physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hospital or medical office experience.
• Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
• Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
• Show a genuine desire to work and improve the hospital as a whole.
• Professional appearance.
• Strong medical terminology.
• Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient processing in OR, GI lab, and 23-hour stay.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage.
• Uses procedure codes accurately for billing.
• Verifies demographic and insurance information in the system.
• Ensures all required forms are received.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff.
• Completes fields in Advantx.
• Prevents equipment/supply conflicts with OR director.
• Alerts administration about new doctors or procedures.
• Cross trains with other areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
• Promotes positive relationships with staff and physicians.
