Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to organize and maintain an active surgery schedule for assigned providers and service lines. You will coordinate procedures across multiple hospitals and centers, arrange pre-operative testing, and ensure timely communication of surgery orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 2 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active, accurate surgery schedule across providers and service lines.
• Coordinate procedures with hospitals and ambulatory centers; schedule pre-operative testing and collect documentation.
• Collaborate with patients, physicians, staff and OR to ensure timely scheduling and communication.
• Provide administrative support and resolve routine and complex customer inquiries.
• Interact with patients, families, referring physicians and third-party carriers on patient-related issues.
• Exercise independent judgment to plan and prioritize a diversified workload.
• Communicate with clinical staff and department teams to maximize time and utilization.
