Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a part-time Non-Clinical Scheduling Coordinator to support the Otolaryngology team. You will coordinate surgeries with patients, physicians, and the operating room, ensuring efficient workflows and accurate documentation.

You will verify eligibility, obtain precertifications, discuss financial obligations, and monitor schedules to optimize resources. This role supports the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center with a collaborative, patient‑centered approach.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating schedules in a clinical setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation.
• Ability to verify patient eligibility and discuss financial obligations.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to optimize OR scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgery schedule with patient, physician and operating room.
• Verify patient eligibility and obtain precertifications; discuss financial obligations.
• Obtain precertification or proper insurance approval prior to procedures.
• Forward paperwork for insurance certification to billing and obtain additional documentation as needed.
• Monitor surgery schedule and optimize resources and workflow.
• Other duties as assigned beyond the listed responsibilities.
