Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking an experienced surgery scheduler to manage patient flow and facility paperwork, ensuring accurate information and timely reservations.

You will collect demographics, insurance and clinical data, schedule surgeries with physicians and office staff, coordinate add-ons, and maintain the master operating room and scheduling communications with the care team, while upholding high professional standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a healthcare setting
• 1+ year of technical experience
• 1+ Electronic Health Record (EHR) scheduling experience

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes facility paperwork.
• Obtains necessary scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers or callbacks.
• Schedules surgeries with physicians and physician office staff using the facility's designated method.
• Calls designated departments with information for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted, and prepares reservations for each case scheduled within established timeframes.
• Maintains hospital schedules through calls, faxes, and other methods.
• Assists with orientation of staff members as needed.
