Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 1 year of related experience, or high school diploma with 3 years of clerical/customer service work.
• Experience coordinating schedules or operating room logistics is a plus.
• Effective communication and data entry accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign operating suites for all surgical cases in conjunction with various suite capabilities and available clinical staff.
• Facilitate patient assignments and communicate with clinical operations staff on placement issues.
• Perform data entry of patient accounts including procedure description, code, region, laterality, anesthesia, surgeon, service, and pre‑op diagnosis.
• Answer calls and provide high level customer service in all interactions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality regarding access to patient and other clinical information via email, computer, and fax.
• Address concerns of clinical teams and provide recovery and escalate issues to the appropriate chain of command as needed.
• Monitor case durations and make adjustments to ensure accurate scheduling.
• Ensure financial authorization of scheduled elective cases; work with finance to escalate clearance as needed.
• Provide department leadership updates regarding placement needs.
