Job summary

UTHealth Houston in Bellaire, TX is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, labs, and office visits. You will liaise with physicians, patients, families, insurers, and care teams to ensure accurate, timely scheduling and smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and proficient with scheduling workflows, insurance verifications, and authorizations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hospital/medical office scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic and surgical scheduling is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, labs, and office visits.
• Serve as liaison among physicians, patients, families, insurance carriers and care teams.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals; verify patient demographics and eligibility.
