Job summary

Optim Medical Center Tattnall in Vidalia, GA seeks a full-time Surgery Scheduler for ENT cases. You will coordinate patient schedules, input case history info, and assist anesthesia billing and pre-certification processes.

Strong familiarity with CPT/ICD-9 coding and medical office procedures is required. Educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 months' experience as a Coding Specialist.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical office procedures and coding; able to use coding books and materials.
• Familiar with CPT and ICD-9 coding and insurance billing practices.
• Experience with medical billing/collection practices and insurance company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries when doctor’s staff calls to schedule.
• Input pertinent information into case history from patient charts.
• Code CPT/ICD-9 codes and enter into case history for insurance filing.
• Ensure operative notes are printed and provided to the doctor for signing.
• Assist outside anesthesia billing group with information for insurance claims.
• Support pre-certification department as needed.
• Assist front desk with patient check-in and filing.
• Perform other duties as workload permits and as required.
