Job summary

Optim Medical Center Tattnall is seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler for our Vidalia, GA location. The role involves scheduling surgeries, entering case histories, coding CPT/ICD-9 codes for insurance filing, and supporting the billing and front-desk processes.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and knowledge of medical office procedures and coding. Some evenings or weekends may be required based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical office procedures and coding.
• Knowledge of medical billing/collections practices.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes.
• Ability to use computer applications and calculators.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries when doctor’s staff calls to schedule.
• Input pertinent information into patient case histories.
• Code pain management procedures and enter CPT/ICD-9 codes for insurance filing.
• Print and provide operative notes for procedures for doctor signature.
• Assist anesthesia billing group with information for insurance claims.
• Support pre-certification as needed.
• Assist front desk with check-in and filing.
• Provide support to other staff as workload requires and act as relief when needed.
• Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as required.
