AdventHealth in Asheville, NC is seeking a scheduling coordinator for Asheville Urology. This role schedules surgeries, gathers necessary patient and insurance information, and coordinates with physicians and staff to ensure smooth operations.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in healthcare, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The position requires accurate documentation and teamwork in a faith-based health system.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to document accurately and concisely.

Aufgaben

• Schedules patients for surgery and completes facility paperwork.
• Obtains necessary scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events with minimal call transfers or callbacks.
• Schedules surgeries with physicians and physician office staff using the method designated by the facility.
• Calls designated departments with information for add-on cases if patients are not yet admitted to the hospital and prepares and sends reservations for each case scheduled within established timeframes.
• Responds to multiple inquiries regarding scheduling of surgery and main operating room suite.
• Prepares the advance surgical schedule, reviews tentative schedules, and coordinates with Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Admissions, surgeons, and others.
• Maintains hospital schedules through calls, faxes, etc.
• Assists with orientation of staff members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Keeps skills and knowledge up to date, including phone etiquette, typing accuracy/speed, and communication.
