Job summary

Westgate Surgery Center is looking for a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgical procedures. You will liaise with physicians, patients, anesthesia providers, and staff to ensure timely and accurate scheduling.

The role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare or surgical scheduling preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance verification and authorizations helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical procedures per physician, patient, and OR availability.
• Coordinate dates/times with physicians, patients, and staff.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and surgical information.
• Arrange pre-operative testing and medical clearances.
• Verify benefits and assist with authorizations/referrals.
• Maintain accurate scheduling in EMR and systems.
• Communicate pre-operative instructions to patients and offices.
• Manage changes, delays, and rescheduling as needed.
