Job summary

Golden State Orthopedics & Spine in Alabama is seeking a Full Time Surgery Scheduler to support our surgical services team. You will verify patient eligibility, schedule surgeries and pre/post-op appointments, and discuss preoperative instructions under physician direction.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (college preferred), plus experience with EHR/EMR and knowledge of medical insurances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Working knowledge of medical insurances.

Responsibilities

• Verifying patient eligibility and coverage.
• Scheduling surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre/post-op appointments.
• Discussing preoperative instructions with the patient, as directed by the physicians.
• Obtaining all requested medical clearances, preoperative testing, lab and EKG results as indicated.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About the Role

• We are looking for a Full Time Surgery Scheduler to join our team

What You'll Do

• Verifying patient eligibility and coverage
• Scheduling surgeries, hospital procedures, and pre/post-op appointments
• Discussing preoperative instructions with the patient, as directed by the physicians
• Obtaining all requested medical clearances, preoperative testing, lab and EKG results as indicated
• Additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED certificate, college (Preferred)

Qualifications:

• Ability to preform multiple and diverse tasks with frequent interruption
• Working knowledge of medical insurances

Experience:

• 1 year experience with physician group practice preferred
• EHR/EMR experience
• Experience as an MA, LPN, or RN a plus
