Job summary

Ascend Vision Partners is seeking a detail‑oriented scheduler for our surgical program in Weslaco, Texas. You will coordinate patient appointments, counsel patients about procedures and costs, and manage pre-operative testing and documentation with strict attention to accuracy.

The role requires 1‑2 years in customer service or sales, high school equivalence, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency. Travel between Weslaco, Mission, and nearby clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in customer service or sales.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is required.
• Strong computer and electronics skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for surgery.
• Follows up on no-shows and cancellations.
• Counsels patients prior to surgery regarding procedures and costs.
• Pre-operative preparation and evaluation including scheduling history and physical.
• Coordinate pre-anesthesia history with physician and schedule necessary tests.
• Obtain signatures on forms and route documents to appropriate facility.
• Scan consent forms, pre-certification forms, and H&P reports into EMR.
• Maintain inventory of patient educational materials and consent forms.
• Communicate with clerical supervisors about surgery schedules and pre-op testing.
• Inform supervisors about schedule changes and pre-op testing.
• Travel between Weslaco, Mission, Edinburg, and Harlingen as needed.

Description

1. Schedules patients for surgery.
2. Follows up on all no shows and cancellations.
3. Counsels' patients prior to surgery regarding the surgical procedure and the cost of the procedure.
4. Pre-Operative preparation and evaluation to include
5. Schedule Pre-anesthesia History & Physical with physician of patient's choice.
6. Schedule necessary pre-operative testing
7. Obtain signature on all necessary forms and physician's orders. Send original orders, copies of the patient's insurance card, pre-certification from, A-Scan form and H &P report to the appropriate facility.
8. Scan consent forms, pre-certification form, and the H&P report into EMR.
9. Maintain inventory of patient educational materials and consent forms.
10. Maintain open communications with Clerical Supervisors regarding surgery schedule and pre-op testing.
11. Monitor the Surgeons' schedules for cancellations. Inform Supervisors regarding surgery schedule and pre-op testing.
12. Returns patient phone calls as needed.
13. Assist clinical staff in patient care as needed.
14. Ability to make decisions that affect other people and/or the image and reputation of the practice.
15. Requires being exact or highly accurate.
16. Meeting strict deadlines.
17. Adhere to company policies and protocol.
18. Any other duties that may be required.
19. Travel occasional travel between Weslaco, Mission, Edinburg, and Harlingen required

Requirements
