Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification, LPN or RN or CPOE training preferred with certification within 12 months of hire.
• Three years of experience in a medical clinic or hospital; knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payor requirements is preferred.
• Experience with electronic scheduling and electronic medical records systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries and follow-up appointments for multiple providers.
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative data entry and provide patients with necessary information.
• Arrange referrals to other providers and obtain prior authorization from insurance companies as needed.
• Provide training and support to office personnel.
