Job summary

Qualifications

• CMA preferred, CPR required.
• Minimum 5 years of physician office experience, preferably with surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of surgery process including verifying insurance, pre-operative certifications and authorizations, and completing hospital forms.
• Schedule patients for pre-operative labs, testing and coordination of post-surgery care.
• Verify insurance information in the electronic system and obtain authorizations as required.
• Coordinate preoperative testing with surgeons and hospital protocols; obtain medical clearances.
• Work with hospital staff to gather information for surgery scheduling and reschedule return appointments as needed.
• Notify manager of patient account and insurance issues; assist staff as needed.
