Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons in the operating room across multiple specialties, performing technical tasks and patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Required: H.S.

Diploma or GED; completion of a Surgical Technology or LPN program; 3 years of experience with Surgical Tech certification, or 10 years experience in lieu of certification. BCLS on hire; GA LPN license if applicable; CST certification.

Qualifications

• Requires Surgical Tech Certification and CST/BCLS where applicable.
• 3 years of surgical tech experience or 7 years substitute for certification; total 10 years experience.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) required on hire; GA LPN license if applicable; CST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties.
• Perform technical and some patient care duties under RN direction.
• Serve as a clinical specialist and resource within the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
