Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to oversee surface operations at its George facility. You will establish and maintain precise survey control for mining activities, ensuring design specifications and regulatory compliance.

This role requires proficiency with surveying equipment and software, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and geologists to support safe and efficient mining.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor in open-pit mining environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar surveying software.
• Experience with survey data processing and 3D modeling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in varying site conditions.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic surveys, setting out of mine workings, and volumetric calculations.
• Utilize GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
• Maintain accurate survey records, plans, and digital terrain models.
• Monitor ground stability and report deviations or hazards.
• Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide spatial data for planning.
• Ensure compliance with mining surveying standards and regulations.
