Job summary

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician (Surface) in the Virginia, MN area. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical components of surface mining equipment at customer sites, with a focus on safe operation and high reliability.

This role requires 50% travel, a valid technical certification or diploma, 3–7 years mining equipment experience, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields or equivalent years of professional field/technical experience.
• Minimum 3–7 years industry related mining equipment experience.
• Knowledge of diesel and high voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.
• Must lift 50 pounds regularly and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components.
• Commission new equipment and provide on-site training at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment for faults and replace defective parts or systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Complete time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists; participate in continuous improvement.
• Travel to multiple sites in Minnesota with a company vehicle.
