Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Upper Marlboro, MD seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, on-time freight movement and top-tier customer service.

You will be trained for DOT compliance, driver readiness, and alignment with company safety standards, with opportunities to advance into leadership within the Supply Chain department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or HS diploma with 1 year of related experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer and event locations as needed.
• Willingness to work nights and/or weekends and relocate regionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build strong relationships with drivers and carriers to support smooth carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent staff and support fleet optimization projects for profitability.
• Assist with driver training, orientation, and use of internal/customer systems.
• Develop reporting and financial analyses to measure fleet performance and customer service.
• Assist with yard and equipment maintenance coordination to ensure safety.
• Plan loads, route freight, and monitor deliveries to meet customer requirements.
