Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in the United States seeks a Manager Trainee for the Supply Chain department. Under supervision, you will learn to manage a small driver count, handle non-traditional shifts, ensure safe, timely freight movement, and provide top-tier customer service. Training includes DOT compliance and driver regulation adherence.

You will develop skills in fleet optimization, budgeting, payroll, and reporting while coordinating with drivers and customers to improve operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration/Logistics or related field.
• Willing to travel to account locations and events when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Learn to manage training and orientation of drivers and staff.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight to meet customer requirements and adjust ETAs.
• Gain knowledge of inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Assist with payroll, budget management, driver counseling, and reporting.
• Coordinate yard maintenance and safety compliance for account equipment.
• Resolve service issues with drivers, customers, and company personnel.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance and company policies.
• Develop and present customer-specific reporting and financial analyses.
