Job summary

Hard Rock Biloxi is seeking an eligible team member to assist the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations, explaining wagering rules and odds to guests, and handling wager approvals within policy.

The role requires prior casino experience, strong cash handling, and excellent guest service. You will maintain betting sheets, update odds, and support training while upholding safety guidelines and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or better.
• Two years casino experience or equivalent.
• Minimum six years in Race & Sports or related guest service with high-volume cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.
• Explain wagering rules, betting lines and odds to guests.
• Approve or refuse wagers within authority; monitor monetary activity per policy.
• Update and maintain customer sheets; issue and redeem betting slips.
• Represent Hard Rock Biloxi to guests and staff; promote safety and compliance.

Job description

• Assists the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.
• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed.
• Approves over the limit wagers for the property in absence of manager and approve low-limit comps as
  permitted by jurisdictional gaming regulations.
• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.
• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.
• Monitors all monies being wagered and updates the betting odds according to company policy.
• Accurately issue and redeem betting slips for guests while providing gaming information and abiding by all gaming regulations/requirements.
• Maintains & continually updates knowledge of regulations set forth by the Mississippi Gaming Commission and all government agencies.
• Knows and abide by Hard Rocks policies, procedures, internal controls and courtesy guidelines.
• Performs all duties in accordance with state gaming regulations.
• Handles guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority.
• Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees.
• Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.
• Maintains knowledge of property information.
• Upholds the Mission Statement.
• Represents Hard Rock Biloxi in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.
• Lives by the Hard Rock values and mottos.
• Ensures that daily promotions are communicated.

• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests.
• Ability to understand and promulgate written memos, instructions, regulations.
• Ability to effectively analyze and solve problems.
• Basic knowledge of mathematics, including statistics.
