BayCare Health System seeks a Supervising Respiratory Care leader at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. This role oversees daily respiratory care operations, coaches staff, and ensures high-quality patient outcomes in a dynamic hospital setting.

The supervisor will partner with a manager, oversee staffing and competency, and drive regulatory compliance while fostering teamwork and clinical excellence across shifts.

Qualifications

• 5 years acute care and respiratory experience.
• 4 years lead role experience preferred.
• Associates in related field required; Bachelor’s preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Respiratory Care Manager in supervising staff and patient care issues.
• Assists with hiring, performance reviews, coaching and staffing to ensure competency.
• Ensures regulatory requirements are met and drives process improvements.
• Acts as a role model and reports to a manager over multiple departments.

The Supervisor Respiratory Care is proficient in all aspects of Respiratory Care and possesses the ability to utilize effective management skills.

Supervisor Respiratory Care Key Responsibilities:

• Supports the Respiratory Care Manager in a supervisory capacity, managing team member and patient care issues as well as physician concerns.
• Assists the manager with hiring, performance review, coaching, counseling and termination. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing, team member competency and policy review.
• Ensures regulatory requirements are met and establishes goals for process improvement.
• Acts as a role model for others
• Reports to a Manager over multiple departments or multiple campuses. Has greater than 10 direct reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Certifications and Licensures

Required:

• RRT (Respiratory Therapy License)
• Active NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) Credential for RRT
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Cardiovascular) - within 6 months
• NRP (Neonatal) - within 6 months - within 6 months - if working in pediatric critical care
• PALS (Pediatric) - within 6 months - if working in pediatric critical care

Education

Required:

• Associates in Related Field
• Preferred : Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy or Related Field

Experience

Required:

• 5 years Acute Care and Respiratory experience
• 4 years lead role experience preferred
