Job summary

Guthrie is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Corning Hospital to oversee nursing operations during shifts and represent Nursing Administration in absence of leadership. The role requires strong clinical leadership and coordination across departments.

Ideal candidates hold NY RN licensure (BSN preferred) with 5 years of acute care experience and 1 year in Critical Care leadership. This position offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus and night shift schedule with every other weekend, 7p-7a.

Qualifications

• Assists with staffing and scheduling considering personnel utilization, scope of practice, and patient needs.

• Responds to emergency codes and crisis situations.
• Addresses Employee Health incidents appropriately.
• Maintains knowledge of NYSDOH codes and reporting requirements.
• Communicates with patients, families and providers regarding care.
• Promotes service recovery.
• Maintains confidentiality while liaising with the community.
• Mentors nursing staff development.
• Participates in continuing education and nursing committees.

The pay range for this position is $40.25-62.59.

(3) 12 hour night shifts per week and every other weekend/7p-7a

Education, License & Cert

• License to practice in the State of New York
• BSN preferred

Experience

5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting and 1 year in Critical Care with demonstrated abilities in leadership and clinical roles

Essential Functions

• Assumes a collaborative role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care.
• Seeks to support a professional practice environment which fosters excellence in nursing practice.
• Fosters professional nurse empowered decision‐making, accountability and autonomy in nursing practice.
• Responds and assumes appropriate role in emergency codes/crisis intervention.
• Addresses Employee Health incidents appropriately.
• Demonstrates knowledge of NYSDOH Codes and reporting requirements.
• Communicates with patient, family and healthcare providers regarding patient care, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Effectively promotes service‐recovery.
• Maintains confidentiality while serving as a professional liaison with the community.
• Functions as a mentor for development of nursing staff.
