Job Description And Duties

THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

The Disability Insurance Branch (DIB) is looking for a forward-thinking, passionate, data-driven, and detail-oriented leader to join our Command Center Division Leadership Team as the Reporting and Forecasting Group Manager. The DIB administers the State Disability Insurance program, which includes Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, Non-Industrial Disability Insurance for state employees, and voluntary plans. The program covers 18 million workers and provides financial stability to workers and their families in times of need. We strive to deliver timely benefit payments and quality service to all of our customers.

This position plays a vital role in supporting DIB management and staff by managing, planning and directing the Research and Reporting Operations Unit and the Research and Workload Forecasting Unit. The Reporting and Forecasting Group manager will lead a team of managers and professional staff to research and analyze trends to measure branch success using cross-system data to provide the DI leadership a clear view of the data to manage to the desired business metrics to assist the DI in meeting strategic goals and objectives. The Reporting and Forecasting Group manager will also lead a team of managers and professional staff to provide technological and analytical support to administer the workforce and call center tools/systems and the coordinating of branch technology system enhancement efforts to support branch-wide continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is headquartered in the Central Office in Sacramento. Will consider candidates who are located throughout the State of California. This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule, which is subject to change, under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telework. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, for their in-office days. Employees may be assigned to report to another DI office closer to their California residence. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters/office are the responsibility of the employee.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
