Under general direction, provides leadership for one or more field office units. Ensures services are delivered in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program. Emphasizes program integrity and proper duration control. Develops and maintains staff to ensure proper processing of workload while operating within budgetary limitations. Supports continuous capacity building for all unit staff. Encourages open, two-way, communication. Assists in the maintenance of a marketing program, which includes educating and partnering with program customers. Has knowledge of the office budget processes. Complies with all system security, internal control, and employee safety requirements. May serve as office manager in the manager's absence. Acts a coach and role model to members of the management team and to all staff. Supports the Branch and Department vision, mission, values, and goals.

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
