Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Hospital Food Service Supervisor to assist in coordinating department development and operations across kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service. You will work under Food Services management to ensure excellent service for patients, guests and staff.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, with leadership experience in lieu of education. Associates degree or higher and 2 years in related settings are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; leadership experience considered in lieu of education.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• 2 years leading or supervising in food service, acute care, or hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination of department development and planning within Food and Nutrition Services.
• Support direction of operations and personnel in kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide continuous excellent service to Mercy patients, guests and co-workers.

Under the supervision of Food Services management, the Hospital Food Service Supervisor has the responsibility within Food and Nutrition Services to assist in the coordination of department development as well as with planning, organizing, staffing and supporting the direction of operations and personnel in the kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service. In collaboration with all leadership, a combination of core and secondary responsibilities are achieved in order to provide continuous excellent service to Mercy patients, guests and co-workers. Supervisor performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent. In lieu of education, at least 2 years of lead or leadership experience may be considered.

Preferred Education: Associates Degree or above.

Preferred Experience: 2 years experience in food service, acute care, or hospitality setting.

Certifications:

Washington: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Certifications:

Washington: Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)

Other: The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job.
