Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a dedicated food service teammate to support meal preparation and assembly in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will help set up and break down serving stations, manage inventories, and ensure tasks are completed in the absence of a manager.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent, and a ServSafe certificate within 90 days. Strong communication, multi-tasking, and accuracy are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• NWA: ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (or State equivalent) within 90 days of hire.
• Good communication skills required.
• Must be able to multi-task several duties at once and work quickly while maintaining accuracy.

Other: Good communication skills required. Must be able to multi-task several duties at once and possess ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy. The physical demands described here are representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands are below, plus:
Minimal: overhead lifting of < 35 lbs, kneeling or crouching, carrying up to 70 lbs, pinch grip, data entry
Occasional: balancing on slippery surfaces, Push < 57 lbs force, pull < 48 lbs force
Frequent: lift floor to desk height of < 70 lbs
Continuous: gripping < 40 lbs both sides, hand coordination
