Job summary

Mercy is hiring for a hospital food service role focused on skilled food preparation and efficient meal assembly. You will set up and break down serving stations, inventory and order food and supplies according to menus, and oversee tasks in the absence of a manager.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to multitask, and accuracy under pressure. A ServSafe Food Handler Certificate within 90 days of hire is preferred, with high school diploma or equivalent recommended.

Other: Good communication skills required. Must be able to multi-task several duties at once and possess ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy. The physical demands described here are representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands are below, plus:
Minimal: overhead lifting of < 35 lbs, kneeling or crouching, carrying up to 70 lbs, pinch grip, data entry
Occasional: balancing on slippery surfaces, Push < 57 lbs force, pull < 48 lbs force
Frequent: lift floor to desk height of < 70 lbs
Continuous: gripping < 40 lbs both sides, hand coordination
Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
