Carpenter Technology Corporation is a leading producer of premium specialty alloys, serving aerospace, transportation, medical, and energy markets.
Principal Purpose of Position
- Manage and improve operations, including business systems, processes, and policies, to support customer satisfaction and corporate goals.
- Increase the effectiveness of support services through improvements to functions such as quoting, order entry, invoicing, and coordinate communication between support and business functions.
- Drive initiatives that contribute to overall customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Develop and sustain effective relationships with Business Units, Logistics, Purchasing, Sales Force, International Operations, Credit, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.
- Identify training initiatives and continuous operational improvement activities to support business objectives, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership in daily problem solving to mitigate risks and prevent customer dissatisfaction.
- Create a positive, enthusiastic work environment that is team‑oriented, customer focused, and quality driven.
- Re‑engineer the department to meet changing organizational and business needs.
- Provide technical and functional expertise to assist team members, customers, and interdepartmental resources with problem resolution.
- Own talent selection, growth, development, succession planning, and performance management by offering strong leadership and coaching.
- Maintain departmental metrics and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines and customer service best practices.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
General Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of business support, technical, or production teams.
- Set priorities to ensure task completion and coordinate work with other supervisors.
- Make decisions guided by policies, procedures, and the business plan with managerial oversight.
- Supervise at least two employees (typical work does not involve the activities supervised).
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe workplace and promote environmental stewardship.
- Accountable for performance of shift, team, or unit.
Education & Training
- High school diploma required; preference for a two‑to‑four‑year degree from an accredited institution.
Relevant Work Experience
- Four years of account management experience required; preference for a minimum of two years of people management experience.
