Job summary

TYG is partnering to hire experienced Superintendents for their Mission Critical team in Virginia. On-site may involve direct coordination of subcontractors, managing live data center operations, and aligning with the Project Manager to keep critical infrastructure running.

You will interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and submittals, build short-interval schedules, and mitigate risks of working around shutdowns and occupied spaces in a highly controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in live-operational facilities such as data centers or healthcare.
• Superintendent or assistant superintendent or equivalent field leadership.
• Ability to coordinate critical MEP systems and schedules.
• Proficient in construction safety and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

We're partnering with a leading national General Contractor to find experienced Superintendents to join their Mission Critical team in Virginia.

This role will be handling capacity upgrades and infrastructure changes within active data centers whilst working closely with the Project Manager.

The role

• Direct and coordinate subcontractors and trade partners on-site.
• Oversee daily construction operations on active data center sites.
• Build and maintain short-interval schedules and look-ahead planning.
• Sequence construction activities around live systems, planned shutdowns, and critical infrastructure.
• Interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and submittals to guide execution in the field.
• Flag and mitigate risks unique to building within a live operational environment.

What they're looking for

• Experience working in data centers, mission critical, healthcare, industrial or other live/operational facilities would be beneficial.
• Comfortable working around operational constraints, shutdowns and occupied environments.
• Background of working as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or similar field leadership position.
• Experience coordinating electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, cooling infrastructure or other critical MEP systems would be beneficial.
• Strong experience coordinating subcontractors and managing construction activities, schedules and specifications in the field.
• Strong understanding of construction safety and quality requirements.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam or similar construction management software would be beneficial.
