Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Division in Seattle is offering a summer internship for a junior to graduate-level structural engineering student. The internship is based in the Seattle Office, averages 40 hours per week for up to 90 days, and assignments vary by project to fit candidate availability.

You will assist a structural engineer with design calculations, detailing, site visits, documentation, plan production, and cost estimation, gaining exposure to heavy civil, transportation, and waterfront

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Willingness to work on a variety of projects.
• Structural analysis coursework, including moment and shear diagrams, load calculations, load paths, and mechanics of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist a structural engineer with calculations, member sizing and detailing, documentation, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
• Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all Company and Site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.
