Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Seattle is seeking a Junior or Senior level Mechanical Engineering student for a summer internship. The internship is approximately 40 hours a week for up to 90 days and involves varied project work across civil, design-build transportation, structural, industrial and waterfront infrastructure.

You will assist a mechanical engineer with design tasks, site visits, calculations, plan production, and cost estimating while adhering to safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients.
• Detail oriented and eager to learn.
• Familiarity with stormwater hydrology and hydraulics basics.

Responsibilities

• Assist a mechanical engineer with various tasks associated with the project design, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
• Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all Company and Site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.
