Job summary

KPFF Seattle invites you to join our Civil/Structural team as a Bridge Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This on-site internship offers hands-on experience on real-world bridge projects, integrating with our engineers to tackle design challenges and contribute to ongoing work.

You will assist in calculations, plan production, and CAD tasks, while gaining exposure to federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited BSCE/MSCE with a structural focus.
• Completion of two or more design courses (concrete, steel, wood, or masonry).
• Fundamentals of engineering knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers with solving complex design problems and project goals.
• Support engineers and CAD staff with calculations, plan production and review.
• Utilize engineering and design software to contribute to project development.
• Travel to project sites to observe existing conditions and construction.
• Apply core engineering principles and navigate codes and standards.
• Thrive in a collaborative, inclusive team environment and participate in internship growth opportunities.
