Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Tacoma seeks a motivated Structural Engineering intern (Junior to Graduate) for summer, approximately 40 hours per week for up to 90 days. Work focuses on heavy civil, transportation, and waterfront infrastructure across the West Coast.

You will assist with calculations, detailing, site visits, and cost estimating while collaborating with a team. Strong teamwork, learning attitude, and pursuit of civil engineering degree are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients.
• Willingness to work on a variety of projects.
• Structural analysis coursework including moment and shear diagrams, load calculations, and mechanics of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist a structural engineer with calculations, member sizing, detailing, documentation, and cost estimating.
• Assist with project site visits and adhere to safety requirements.
