Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or similar Engineering student to support the LAMS program as an Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineering Summer Intern in Huntsville, Alabama. You will assist with flight hardware assembly, integration, testing, calibration, and documentation, working alongside experienced engineers and technicians on an active spaceflight production line.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with graduation 2027 or 2028.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in hands-on engineering, hardware assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Support flight hardware assembly, integration, and test for LAMS.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians during build and integration.
• Follow engineering work instructions, manufacturing operations, assembly and test procedures.
• Support system functional, performance testing, and calibration.
• Collect, organize, review, and analyze test/calibration data.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of hardware/test issues.
• Document test results and engineering evaluations.
• Support configuration management and program technical reviews.
• Work across mechanical, electrical, optical, software, manufacturing, quality, and systems teams.
• Contribute to trade studies and continuous improvement for LAMS production.
