Job summary

Leidos seeks a talented Engineering intern (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or similar) to support the Laser Air Monitoring System (LAMS) in Huntsville, AL. You will assist in assembly, integration, testing, and data analysis within a multidisciplinary team on a flight-hardware program.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, collaboration across engineering disciplines, and preparation for program reviews, with on-site work in Huntsville and mentorship from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or related engineering field with 2027/2028 graduation.
• Overall GPA 3.0 or higher.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Able to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Experience with CAD tools and basic lab/test equipment.
• On-site in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Support flight hardware assembly, integration, and test activities for LAMS.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians during build and integration.
• Assist with work instructions, procedures, and test protocols.
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting of test results.
• Help troubleshoot hardware, test, or integration issues.
• Prepare for program reviews and maintain engineering documentation.
