Job summary

Leidos is seeking a talented Engineering summer intern in Huntsville, Alabama to support the LAMS program. You will work alongside engineers and technicians on flight hardware assembly, integration, testing, and calibration, contributing to a live production cycle and learning end-to-end processes for spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or similar engineering discipline from an ABET‑accredited college or university, with anticipated graduation in 2027 or 2028.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support flight hardware assembly, integration, and test activities for the Laser Air Monitoring System.
• Work with engineers and technicians during hardware build and integration.
• Assist with engineering work instructions, manufacturing operations, assembly procedures, and test procedures.
• Support system functional testing, performance testing, and calibration activities.
• Assist with collecting, organizing, reviewing, and analyzing test and calibration data.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, test, or integration issues.
• Assist engineers in evaluating test results against requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and revise assembly procedures, test procedures, and work instructions.
