Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or similar Engineering student for the LAMS Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineering Summer Intern role.

You will work alongside experienced engineers on flight-hardware production, performing assembly, integration, and system testing activities, gaining hands-on experience with processes to build and deliver human spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a similar ABET-accredited program with anticipated graduation in 2027 or 2028.
• GPA 3.0 or higher required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to work on-site in Huntsville, AL.
• Experience with CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Assist flight hardware assembly, integration, and test activities for the LAMS project.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians during hardware build and integration.
• Follow engineering work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and test procedures.
• Contribute to system functional testing, performance testing, and calibration activities.
• Collect, organize, review, and analyze test and calibration data.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve hardware, test, or integration issues.
• Assist with documenting test results, evaluations, and post-test reports.
• Support configuration management and documentation for flight hardware production and testing.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, optical, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering.
