Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering student for a summer internship in Huntsville, AL. You will support hardware integration and testing for the Lunar Dawn program, develop CAD models and tooling, and prepare assembly and test documentation under guidance from senior engineers.

The role emphasizes multitasking, strong communication, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a team across multiple disciplines on space hardware projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar from ABET-accredited college or university with completion in 2027 or 2028.
• US Citizen.
• Overall GPA 3.0 or above.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and use common hand tools.
• Willingness to work in-office in Huntsville, AL.
• Experience with CAD software and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Support hardware integration and testing design and execution for LTV systems.
• Research test methods and pass/fail metrics.
• Coordinate with vendors on manufacturing quotes and PO's.
• Develop CAD models and drawings for tooling and test hardware.
• Create assembly, test, and MR&R/TRR deliverables.
• Collaborate with project teams to solve problems and deliverables across disciplines.
